The Land Racer LRX9 Prototype design is a concept that is currently under development. It is part of the Intergalactic Racers series.
Model: LRX9 Prototype
Vehicle type: Endurance high speed land racer
Pilot: Gus Patrisia
Power Source: Electric
Planet: Quatalo
Background story:
The Land Racer is a single seat, 3-wheel vehicle designed for racing across the vast deserts of it’s home planet, Quatalo.
To ensure the greatest speed possible, the wheels are run by an electric power source and there is a thruster on either side of the vehicle.
The Quatalonians are fanatic about land speed racing. It is now their largest growing international sport with billions of fans tuning in every year to watch the annual global speed racing tournament.
The endurance race is the biggest and most anticipated race of the tournament. This race travels across the great deserts of Quatalo. On these high-speed, long-haul endurance races, the biggest issue drivers racing the current LRX9 prototype encounter is that of thruster failure. The fine dust leftover from the ancient glaciers that ran along the vast Quatalonian plains thousands of years ago can build up inside the bearings of the thrusters and jam them solid on one side, sending the racers into spectacular high speed spins, usually with fatal consequences.
In the past year three of the planets greatest racers have died in horrific crashes as a result of sudden thruster failure. Officials of the great land speed endurance race are looking into banning these high speed thruster designs but have faced opposition from both fans of the race and race participants.
The Intergalactic Racers range of designs consists of various vehicles for earth and planets far from us.
